Besides offices for students and researchers, our facilities at the University of Bern consist of a state-of-the-art warm water aquarium room for our cichlid fish, a small molecular genetics laboratory, a boathouse at the Ethological Station Hasli equipped with a basic aquarium system for our sticklebacks, and two nice ponds for experimental work under seminatural conditions.
At the Eawag Center for Ecology, Evolution and Biogeochemistry in Kastanienbaum (Luzern) we have a large state-of-the-art warm-water and cold-water aquarium systems, two large outdoor fish troughs, outdoor mesocosm tanks and a large state-of-the-art molecular laboratory consisting of a pre-PCR lab, a PCR lab including sequencers and a gel-lab (Eawag facilities).
