Examining past food web dynamics of Lake Victoria using sedimentary microfossils

I am examining sedimentary microfossils from Lake Victoria sediment cores to assess how zooplankton community composition has shifted throughout the Holocene, as well as how these shifts link to changes in environmental conditions and fish assemblages. While previous paleolimnological research of Lake Victoria has revealed significant changes within the lake environment, there are currently no long-term records of the zooplankton community in relation to these changes. This study will provide insight into food web dynamics of a lake ecosystem from its inception through its assembly to its contemporary composition.
